Delete Your Account

You can permanently delete your StepMatches account and personal data at any time. Deletion is immediate and cannot be undone.

Delete from inside the app (recommended)

1. Open StepMatches and sign in.
2. Go to Settings.
3. Scroll to the bottom and tap Delete account.
4. Confirm in the dialog. Your account is deleted immediately and you are signed out.

If you cannot access the app

Contact us from the email address linked to your account and ask us to delete it — our contact address is in the Contact section of the Privacy Policy. We verify the request and complete deletion within 30 days.

What is deleted

Your profile (name, date of birth, gender, city, role, dance styles and experience, vibe and comfort tags, intentions, bio, height, studio), your uploaded photos and videos, your matches, your messages, your event RSVPs, your reactions, your invites, your notifications, and your account login. Once deleted, this data cannot be recovered.

What may be retained, and for how long

Profile, photos, and chat content are removed within 30 days of deletion. Routine backups are overwritten on a rolling 30-day schedule. If you submitted a government ID for verification, the ID image is retained for up to 90 days after the verification decision and then deleted. We may retain a limited amount of data longer only where required for legal obligations, dispute resolution, or safety — for example, records needed to comply with the law. Logs and analytics are pseudonymized and retained for up to 13 months.
